Description

Nolan McKelvey with Spencer Vandevier. Enjoy an evening of heartfelt, original Americana. Spencer Vandevier has had music at the center of his life since an early age, evolving from childhood singalongs to a lifelong passion for performing, songwriting, and multi-instrumental musicianship. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Santa Fe University of Art and Design with a degree in Music Performance focused on electric and upright bass, Spencer is equally at home on bass, guitar, and vocals. Drawing from deeply personal experiences, his original songs blend introspective storytelling with a distinctive dark folk and world music influence, creating a sound that is haunting, atmospheric, and deeply personal. Based in Arizona, Spencer’s performances invite listeners into a reflective musical journey.

Nolan McKelvey, for more than three decades, has been one of Arizona's most respected Americana singer-songwriters, blending alt-country, bluegrass, classic country, and rock into a sound that's distinctly his own. His latest album, How Small We Are, has earned critical acclaim and radio play across Europe and Australia, while his songwriting—often inspired by Arizona's people and landscapes—has made him a favorite with audiences throughout the Southwest. Dubbed "Best Musician" and "Flagstaff's Poet Laureate" by FlagLive, Nolan's performances are known for being thoughtful, passionate, and thoroughly entertaining.

Throughout his career, Nolan has shared the stage with Americana legends including Greg Brown, Peter Rowan, Odetta, Los Lobos, Sam Bush, Béla Fleck, Leon Russell, and Jerry Douglas, as well as contemporary favorites like Leftover Salmon, Railroad Earth, Gregory Alan Isakov, Jack Johnson, Son Volt, Josh Ritter, and Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers. Whether performing in an intimate theater or on a festival stage, Nolan brings heartfelt storytelling, seasoned musicianship, and an authentic Arizona voice to every show.
